Judy N Green works as a wellness coach and educator in Digby, and is raising awareness of the many solutions to challenges faced by residents in rural communities across Nova Scotia.
When she secured the nomination as the local Green Party candidate, Judy stated, “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to work for you — to make the voices of the people of West Nova heard, and to put our future, and that of our children and grandchildren, at the forefront of our decisions.”
A veteran, wife, mother and grandmother, Judy earned her undergraduate degree at Acadia University and completed a Master of Computer Science at Carleton University. Born in British Columbia, she has lived throughout Canada, and has called Nova Scotia home for over 20 years.
Judy has a passion for problem solving and works tirelessly with local groups such as the Digby and Area Community Health Board and Fresh Food Box Digby to create solutions for food insecurity and poverty in West Nova. Judy is committed to cooperation and collaboration with groups and organizations who work on the front-lines addressing our most critical challenges.
Judy is passionate about sustainable management of our natural resources. She says, “Our inland fishery, forestry, and minerals are critical to the economic health of West Nova. Our natural resources are our principle in the bank. As a small business owner, I know we must be fiscally responsible and should only be spending the interest while leaving the principle in place to provide for our future. We need to balance a triple bottom line: People – Planet – Profits.”
